IOWA CITY, Iowa, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Tyler Donovan, subbing for an injured John Stocco, threw for 228 yards and two TDs in his first career start Saturday as No. 16 Wisconsin beat Iowa, 24-21.

Stocco missed his first start in 36 games because of the right-shoulder injury he picked up last week in the Badgers' win over Penn State.

Donovan completed 17-of-24 passes and picked up 61 yards rushing for Wisconsin (10-1, 7-1 Big Ten), which won its seventh straight game. P.J. Hill ran for 77 yards and a TD and Travis Beckum and Luke Swan each caught a touchdown pass for the Badgers.

Taylor Mehlhaff kicked a 31-yard field goal for Wisconsin to open the scoring, and Roderic Rogers intercepted a Drew Tate pass on the first play of Iowa's next possession to set up Donovan's 3-yard TD pass to Beckum.

Drew Tate completed just 10-of-31 passes for 170 yards, but three of the completions went for touchdowns for the Hawkeyes (6-5, 2-5), who lost for the fourth time in their last five games.

Tony Moeaki, Tom Busch and Trey Stross caught the touchdown passes, while Damian Simms rushed for 52 yards on seven carries.
