NHL: Toronto 4, Philadelphia 1

TORONTO, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Andrew Raycroft stopped 40 shots Monday as the Toronto Maple leafs posted a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Bates Battaglia, Nik Antropov, Alexei Ponikarovsky and Tomas Kaberle scored for the Maple Leafs, who won for the fifth time in their last six games.

The Maple Leafs handed the Buffalo Sabres their first regulation loss of the season Saturday and on Monday beat Philadelphia for the fifth time in their last six meetings.

The Flyers have lost three straight and are to 2-4 under new Coach John Stevens. They have the NHL's worst record with only seven points.

Antero Niittymaki stopped 28 shots in the loss. Ben Eager scored Philadelphia's only goal.
