
CHICAGO, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Miami took a 14-10 half-time advantage and went on to hand Chicago its first loss of the season, beating the Bears, 31-13.
In a dominant defensive effort, end Jason Taylor made one sack, forced a fumble, and returned a pass interception for a touchdown.
Joey Harrington went 16-for-32 for 137 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions; running back Ronnie Brown gained 157 yards on 29 carries; while Marty Booker, Wes Welker, and Chris Chambers caught touchdown passes for the Dolphins (2-6), who scored 21 points while forcing six turnovers.
Rex Grossman was 18-for-42 for 210 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions; Thomas Jones rushed for 69 yards on 20 carries and made four receptions for 24 yards; while Muhsin Muhammad scored once on two catches for 42 yards for the Bears (7-1).
Chicago was trying to break Miami's record of being the NFL's lone unbeaten team for a season.
Miami did it in 1972.
