
DETROIT, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Kevin Jones rushed for two touchdowns Sunday afternoon as Detroit surprised the Atlanta Falcons, 30-14.
Overall, Jones gained 110 yards on 26 carries.
Roy Williams caught a touchdown pass on six receptions for 138 yards; Jon Kitna completed 20 of 32 passes for 321 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and overcame three sacks; while Jason Hanson kicked three field goals for the Lions (2-6), who have split their last four games.
Michael Vick was 17-for-32 for 163 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions and ran for 80 yards on 10 attempts; Alge Crumpler caught a touchdown pass; and Warrick Dunn scored once on 11 carries for 51 yards for the Falcons (5-3), who could not overcome a 17-14 half-time deficit.
Back-up free safety Kevin Mathis of Atlanta was carted off the field after making a tackle on the opening kick.
No information was available about his condition.
