Tommie Harris' wife dies

HOUSTON, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Paul Dalgish scored two scores Sunday afternoon as the Houston Dynamo beat the Colorado Avalanche, 3-1, to win the Major League Soccer Western Conference.
The Dynamo won the conference in its first season in Houston following an off-season move from San Jose.
Houston will play New England next Sunday for the MLS title. The Revolution advanced to the title match earlier Sunday with a 1-0 victory over D.C. United.
Brad Davis had two assists and Brian Mullan had one assist for Houston.
Colorado took an early lead when Jovan Kirovski scored on a penalty kick, but Houston scored in the 19th minute in Dalgish's first goal -- and Dalgish scored again 10 minutes later to put the Dynamo up, 2-1.
