NBA: Milwaukee 105, Detroit 97

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Michael Redd scored a game-high 37 points Wednesday night to lead Milwaukee past the Detroit Pistons, 105-97.

In the season opener for both teams, Redd went 14-for-22 shooting and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. He also had five assists.

Charlie Villanueva had 16 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four steals; and Andrew Bogut had 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists as the Bucks snapped a six-game losing streak at Detroit.

They shot 46 percent from the field and committed just eight turnovers.

Chauncey Billups had 25 points, eight assists and six rebounds; Richard Hamilton also scored 25 points, while adding two assists and five turnovers; and Tayshaun Prince had 16 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for the Pistons.

The contest was a rematch of a first-round playoff series from last season, which Detroit won.
