NBA: Philadelphia 88, Atlanta 75

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Allen Iverson scored a team-high 32 points Wednesday night as Philadelphia beat Atlanta, 88-75, in the NBA season opener for both teams.

Iverson's point total came despite 9-for-21 shooting. He added six assists and four rebounds.

Andre Iguodala had 15 points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals for the 76ers, and Samuel Dalembert had 11 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

Joe Johnson had 25 points, four assists and four rebounds for the Hawks. Zaza Pachulia had 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Joe Childress added 15 points, 10 rebounds and two assists.

The 76ers bolted to a 29-14 lead after the first quarter and were never threatened.

Philadelphia won the rebounding battle, 47-42.
