Sorenstam to redesgin S.C. golf course

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Annika Sorenstam, the world's top-ranked woman golfer, has agreed to redesign the Patriot Points Link Golf Course in South Carolina.

It is her first attempt at course design in the United States.

Sorenstam will be the host for an LPGA tournament in Mount Pleasant, S.C., next year on a course connected to Patriots Point Links, which is the layout she is redesigning.

Sorenstam is scheduled to play in Japan this week in defense of her Mizuno Classic championship. A victory in that tournament would set an LPGA record as she would become the first player to win an event six consecutive years.
