NHL: Colorado 4, Minnesota 1

DENVER, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Milan Hejduk punched in two goals Sunday as Colorado beat the Minnesota Wild, 4-1.

The other goals were scored by Tyler Arnason and Ian Laperriere.

John-Michael Liles assisted on three of the goals, Brett McLean had two assists and goalie Jose Theodore allowed only one goal on 21 shots for the Avalanche (5-4-2), who are fourth in the Northwest Division with 12 points.

Pavol Demitra scored on the power play at 11:44 of the second period after assists by Todd White and Petteri Nummelin, while goaltender Manny Fernandez made 32 saves on 36 shots for the Wild (9-2-0), who lead the Northwest Division with 18 points.

On the power play, Colorado went 1-for-6 and Minnesota was 1-for-2.
