COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Troy Smith had 183 yards passing, 43 yards rushing and a touchdown Saturday as top-ranked Ohio State posted a 44-0 victory over Minnesota.

It appears Ohio State's bid for a perfect season and a berth in the national championship game may rest on a Nov. 18 clash in Columbus against third-ranked Michigan.

Ohio State (9-0, 5-0 Big Ten) got its national-best 16th straight victory, with its last loss coming against Penn State on Oct. 8, 2005.

Antonio Pittman, speedster Ted Ginn Jr. and wideout Anthony Gonzalez rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns while Chris Wells piled up 90 yards and another TD for the Buckeyes.
