
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Mike Hart rushed for a touchdown on 95 yards in 20 carries Saturday afternoon as second-ranked Michigan beat Northwestern, 17-3.
Chad Henne went 10-for-20 passing for 116 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions; Steve Breaston made three catches for 34 yards; Adrian Arrington caught a touchdown pass; while the defense intercepted three passes, recovered a fumble and limited Northwestern to a total of 191 yards for the Wolverines (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten).
C.J. Bacher completed 20-of-41 passes for 204 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions; Tyrell Sutton made six receptions for 55 yards; and Joel Howells kicked a 38-yard field goal in the third quarter for the Wildcats (2-7, 0-5 Big Ten), whose their losing streak grew to six straight games.
The Wolverines entered the game with the nation's top run defense, allowing just 33.6 yards on the ground, and held the Wildcats to minus-13 yards rushing.
