NEW YORK, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- New York Giants running back Tiki Barber fired back at his media critics, whom he called "idiots," for rapping his plan to retire after this season.

"I will call them idiots, because they have neither spoken to me, nor any one of my teammates or any of my coaches," Barber said on his satellite radio show.

"Yet all they do is criticize me for being a distraction with this retirement thing," the New York Daily News said.

Barber is having a big year. On Monday night, he rushed for 114 yards in the Giants' 36-22 win over Dallas.
