CADIZ, Spain, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Spain's Jose Manuel Lara has a one-shot lead after one round of the European Tour's Volvo Masters golf tournament in Cadiz, Spain.
Lara shot 5-under 66, and leads a trio of players -- Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland, Sweden's Niclas Fasth and Australia's Richard Green -- who shot 4-under 67.
Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez and Johan Edfors of Sweden shared fifth place at 3-under 68. Defending champion Paul McGinley of Ireland opened at 2-over 73.
England's Paul Casey, who leads the tour's Order of Merit, needed an injection for a stomach virus on the 11th tee.
"My stomach was really cramped up and I called for a 'shot' to ease the cramps and, shall we say, solidify things," said Casey, who has had the virus all week. "Hopefully, it is just a 24-hour thing and I will have a good night's sleep and I'll feel better tomorrow. I can't feel any worse."
