NHL: Florida 4, N.Y. Rangers 2

NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Jozef Stumpel scored twice Wednesday night as Florida beat the New York Rangers, 4-2.

He scored on the power play in the first period and scored again, unassisted, in the third.

Gregory Campbell scored on an assist by Rostislav Olesz in the second period, Juraj Kolnik scored unassisted in the third and goaltender Ed Belfour gave up two goals on 35 shots for the Panthers (5-5-1), who are second in the Southeast Division behind front-running Atlanta with 11 points.

Petr Prucha on a second period power play and Martin Straka scored the other goal for New York.

Goalie Henrik Lundqvist made 20 saves on 24 shots for the Rangers (4-5-0).

The Rangers have eight points and are tied with the Islanders for third place in the Atlantic Division.

On the power play, Florida converted one of its two chances while the Panthers went 1-for-6 on the man advantage.
