Massa wins the Brazilian Grand Prix

SAO PAULO, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Brazil's Felipe Massa was an easy winner at Sunday's Formula One Grand Prix auto race at Sao Paulo.

The victory was Massa's second of his F1 career.

Both wins have come this year.

In the final F1 race of the year, his Ferrari crossed the finish line 18.6 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso (Renault), who won the F1 points title despite the second place finish.

Massa was the first Brazilian to win his home race since Ayrton Senna in 1993.

Jenson Button (Honda) was third; the retiring Michael Schumacher (Ferrari) was fourth; and Kimi Raikkonen finished fifth.

Giancarlo Fisichella (Renault), Rubens Barrichello (Honda), and Pedro de la Rosa (McLaren) completed the points-scoring positions.

In the overall points race, Alonso had 134 points; Schumacher had 121 points and Massa was a distant third with 80 points.
