Tommie Harris' wife dies

DENVER, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- A goal by Abe Thompson in the 55th minute Saturday night gave FC Dallas a 2-1 win over Colorado in the Major League Soccer playoffs.
Carlos Ruiz scored in the 15th minute and Dario Sala made six saves for the winners, who will be home to the Rapids Oct. 28 in Frisco, Texas.
Colorado would need to win that contest by two goals to advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
Terry Cooke scored in the 23rd minute and Joe Cannon made two saves for the Rapids, who were out-shot, 17-6 overall.
Cooke's goal tied the game at 1-1.
