NHL: Buffalo 6, Boston 2

BOSTON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Chris Drury scored two power play goals Saturday night to help Buffalo beat the Boston Bruins, 6-2, and remain undefeated in the young season.

Ales Kotalik, Jason Pominville, Thomas Vanek and Maxim Afinogenov all scored once. Brian Campbell had three assists, Vanek had two assists and goalie Martin Biron made 23 saves on 25 shots for the Sabres (8


0), who have 16 points to lead the Northeast Division.

With its latest victory, Buffalo ran its franchise-record winning streak to 13 games -- including five games at the end of the 2005-06 season.

The Sabres are the league's only remaining undefeated team this season.

Wade Brookbank and Phil Kessel each scored one goal, three other players each had one assist and goalies Hannu Toivonen and Tim Thomas combined to allow six goals on 30 shots for the Bruins (2-4-1), who have only five points after seven games.

On the power play, Buffalo went 3-for-7 and Boston was 0-for-4.
