NEW YORK, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- New York running back Tiki Barber was selected the NFC offensive player of the week on the strength of a 185-yard rushing effort last week.
Barber carried the ball 26 times for 185 yards in the Giants' 27-14 victory over Atlanta. It was the 33rd time in his career and third time this season he had more than 100 yards in a game. His 533 rushing yards leads the NFL this year.
Detroit Lions defensive end James Hall took the NFC defensive player honor this week. He had 3 1/2 sacks, seven tackles and forced a fumble against Buffalo as the Lions won for the first time this season.
Seattle kicker John Brown, whose 54-yard field goal as time expired gave the Seahawks a 30-28 win at St. Louis, was selected the conference's special teams player of the week. It was the second time this season he won a game with a last-second field goal.
