
SPRING, Texas, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- After the threat of poor weather Sunday, the final round of the Administaff Small Business Classic in Spring, Texas, was canceled.
Jay Haas, who led by five strokes after the second round, was declared the winner.
Haas shared the first-round lead with Dick Mast and Tom Purtzer, then shot 9-under 63 on Saturday to move to 16-under 128 and pull away from the field.
Purtzer shared second place with Bruce Lietzke at 11-under 133.
Haas played five holes Sunday before bad weather came.
He was minus-one with a bogey and two birdies, but still led by five over Lietzke when play was halted.
Mast finished in fourth place at 10-under 134, while Jim Thorpe was one stroke further back at 9-under 135.
Des Smyth finished 8-under 136, one stroke ahead of three players -- Larry Nelson, Ron Streck and D.A. Weibring.
