NHL: Nashville 4, Phoenix 1

NASHVILLE, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Paul Kariya and Scott Hartnell both had a goal and an assist Saturday night to lead the Predators past the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-1, in Nashville.

Martin Erat and Ryan Suter each scored; Shea Weber had two assists; and goalie Tomas Vokoun allowed only one goal on the 30 shots he faced for the Predators (1-3-0), who finally got their first win of the new season after three straight losses.

Fredrik Sjostrom scored on the power play after an assist by Keith Yandle; and goaltender Curtis Joseph was beaten four times on 25 shots for the Coyotes (1-4-0), who are 0-5-1 in the last six visits to Nashville.

Both teams went 1-for-5 on the power play.
