Ljubicic makes final at Vienna

VIENNA, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic, the top seed, advanced Saturday to the final of the BA-CA Tennis Trophy tournament in Vienna, Austria.

In the semifinals, Ljubicic was an easy 6-1, 6-4 winner over unseeded Dominik Hrbaty of Slovakia. He needed only 66 minutes to advance to his second straight tournament final.

Saturday, he hit 12 aces and won 88 percent of his first serves.

In the other semi, Andy Roddick, the No. 3 seed, was beaten by fifth-seeded Fernando Gonzalez of Chile, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5).

It was Gonzalez's first win over Roddick since the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Gonzalez hit nine aces but had three doubles faults. He won 102 of the match's 201 points.

It was his 17th victory in his last 21 matches.

Ljubicic has five career ATP titles, including two this year. He won tournaments at Chennai, India and Zagreb, Croatia.

Sunday's will receive $137,000.
