COL FB: Vanderbilt 24, Georgia 22

ATHENS, Ga., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Bryant Hahnfeldt kicked a 33-yard field goal with two seconds left Saturday to give Vanderbilt a 24-22 upset over 14th-ranked Georgia.

Chris Nickson passed for 190 yards and two touchdowns for Vanderbilt (3-4, 1-3 SEC), which halted an 11-game series losing streak and beat Georgia for the first time since 1994. Nickson also led the Commodores with 59 rushing yards.

Georgia (5-2, 2-2) has lost two in a row -- both at home -- after opening the season with five straight wins. The Bulldogs were coming off a 51-33 rout at the hands of Tennessee last week.

Vanderbilt had lost its first three SEC games by a combined 12 points -- 13-10 at Alabama, 21-19 against Arkansas and 17-10 at Ole Miss.

Georgia's Joe Tereshinski started and completed 11-of-17 passes for 151 yards with a touchdown. Matt Stafford finished 9-of-13 for 86 yards.
