STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Two-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal and Swede Joachim Johansson were among Tuesday's first-round winners at the Stockholm Open.

The top-seeded Nadal beat Dutchman Raemon Sluiter, 6-4, 6-2, while Johansson, playing in his first ATP-level match since February due to an injury layoff, defeated Italian Davide Sanguinetti, 6-4, 6-4.

It was Johansson's first match victory since a second-round win at Wimbledon last year. The 6-foot-6 Johansson meets Wimbledon runner-up Nadal on Wednesday.

Seventh-seeded Belgian Kristof Vliegen advanced with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Chilean Nicolas Massu.
