CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Vesa Toskala made 29 saves and four different San Jose players scored Monday night as the Sharks remained perfect with a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames.
Toskala fell just a few minutes short of his first shutout of the season and second straight for San Jose, which has won all three of its games this season to tie the best start in franchise history.
Evgeni Nabakov made 26 saves in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Islanders. San Jose is 3-0 for the first time since starting the 1999-2000 season with the same record.
Patrick Marleau had three assists and Steve Bernier and Milan Michalek each scored second-period goals for the Sharks, who have scored 11 goals so far this season. Christian Ehrhoff and Mark Smith also scored for San Jose.
Alex Tanguay scored the lone goal for the Flames, who have dropped two of their first three games.
