Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

BANGKOK, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Top-seeded Marion Bartoli, citing an injured right heel, has withdrawn from the $200,000 Bangkok Open in Thailand.
Bartoli, from France, won the women's draw in the Japan Open on Sunday but said a foot injury would force her out of this week's tournament.
Rain caused the postponement of a pair of matches Monday that would have opened the Bangkok Open.
American Jamea Jackson was to meet Hungarian Melinda Czink while German Julia Schruff was to play Finland's Emma Laine on Day 1 but heavy showers postponed the marches until Tuesday.
The Bangkok Open is to run through the week with the eventual winner taking home $30,500.
