
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Jay Feeley kicked four field goals Sunday to help the New York Giants beat the Washington Redskins, 19-3.
The Giants' defense, which had only two sacks, came up with three in the game, and shut down a Redskins' offense that had scored 67 points the past two weeks.
Eli Manning was 23-of-33 passing for 256 yards and one touchdown, Tiki Barber ran for 123 yards on 23 carries, Amani Toomer made four catches for 81 yards and Plaxico Burress caught the touchdown pass for the Giants (2-2), who had more first downs (20-10), total plays (69-45) and led in time of possession (34:47-25:13) than Washington.
Jon Hall opened the scoring with a 39-yard field goal late in the first quarter. Mark Brunell went 12-of-29 for 109 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions. Clinton Portis gained 76 yards on 19 rushing attempts and Chris Cooley caught four passes for 41 yards for the Redskins (2-3).
