LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Mario Danelo kicked four field goals Saturday afternoon to help No. 2 Southern California turn back stubborn Washington, 26-20.

John David Booty completed 23-of-40 passes for 243 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Patrick Turner caught 12 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown, Chauncey Washington rushed for 81 yards on 17 carries and Emmanuel Moody rushed for 67 yards on 15 carries for the Trojans (5-0, 3-0 Pac-10), who extended their home winning streak to 29 games and won their 26th straight conference contest.

USC escaped when a last-ditch effort by Washington fell short as time expired.

Washington quarterback Isaiah Stanback was 17-of-40 for 212 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Kenny James and Johnie Kirton both caught touchdown passes, Michael Braunstein booted two field goals, Kenny James gained 84 yards on 13 carries and Sonny Shackelford caught nine passes for 125 yards for the Huskies (4-2, 2-1 Pac-10).
