Tommie Harris' wife dies

IOWA CITY, Iowa, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Drew Tate passed for 253 yards and Damian Sims rushed for 155 and two touchdowns Saturday as 19th-ranked Iowa defeated the Purdue Boilermakers, 47-17.
Shonn Greene added 88 yards and a touchdown on the ground as the Hawkeyes (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) accumulated 286 yards rushing. Dominique Douglas caught four passes for 90 yards for Iowa.
Purdue (4-2, 1-1) fell behind 27-3 in the third quarter before mounting some offense the rest of the way. Curtis Painter finished 22-of-46 for 249 yards with one TD and two interceptions. Kory Sheets added 73 yards on the ground.
