MLB: N.Y. Mets 4, LA Dodgers 1

NEW YORK, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Tom Glavine scattered four hits over six scoreless innings Thursday night to help the New York Mets beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-1.

The Mets carry a 2-0 lead into Game 3 of the NL Division Series Saturday night at Los Angeles.

Jose Reyes had an RBI groundout in the bottom of the third and an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth, Paul Lo Duca hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth and Julio Franco hit an RBI groundout in the bottom of the sixth for the Mets, who have not trailed in either of the first two games.

Billy Wagner saved his second straight game.

Wilson Betemit hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning and Jeff Kent had two hits for the Dodgers, who have lost 11 of their last 12 playoff games.

Dodgers starter Hong-Chih Kuo took the loss, surrendering two runs on four hits and two walks over 4 1/3 innings. Kuo struck out four.

Los Angeles first baseman Nomar Garciaparra aggravated a quadriceps injury in the fifth and came out of the game.
