MICHOACAN, Mexico, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- At 5-under 68, Brandie Burton is the leader after the first round of the LPGA's Corina Morelia Championship at Michoacan, Mexico.

Kelli Kuehne and Morgan Pressel tied for second place at 4-under 69.

"Obviously, the conditions really tell the story of the golf course," Burton said. "You really have to drive it straight and they have some really tricky pin placements that you've really got to hit in the right spot to line up for birdies."

Burton was an early player on the course at the Tres Marias Residential Golf Club.

Young-A Yang, Heather Young, Giulia Sergas, Julieta Granada, Katie Futcher and Alena Sharp are tied for fourth at 3-under 70.

In the low-scoring field, seven others are tied for 10th at 2-under 71.
