PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- The PGA of America announced Tuesday it will honor Jack Nicklaus and six others with induction into the PGA Golf Professional Hall of Fame.
Five-time PGA champion Nicklaus and PGA of America President Roger Warren headline the class to be honored on Dec. 8.
Nicklaus is also praised by the association for his work off the golf course, including establishing the Barbara & Jack Nicklaus Junior Golf Endowment Fund and elevating the role of PGA professionals through First Tee teaching grants.
Warren will complete his term as the 34th president of the Association in November. The inductees also include: 2005 PGA golf professional of the year Bill Eschenbrenner; 1958 PGA champion Dow Finsterwald; 1986 PGA teacher of the year Manuel de la Toree; PGA master professional William Heald; and 1987 PGA teacher of the year Gary Wiren.
