
SEATTLE, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Michael Young and Nelson Cruz both had two RBI Friday night as Texas edged the Seattle Mariners, 6-5.
Joaquin Arias and Carlos Lee each hit RBI singles; Ian Kinsler had two runs and two hits; Young had two hits; and a run scored on a throwing error by Seattle's Yuniesky Betancourt for the Rangers (80-80), who have split their last four games.
Winner Vicente Padilla (15-10) gave up four runs, all earned, and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Craig Wilson recorded his first save.
Adrian Beltre hit a two-run homer and had three RBI; Raul Ibanez hit a solo homer and had two runs and two hits; Richie Sexson had two hits and one RBI; while Ichiro Suzuki had two runs and two hits for the Mariners (76-84), who have a three-game losing streak.
The losing pitch was Emiliano Fruto (2-2).
