WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 (UPI) --
The New York Mets hit six home runs Saturday night and clobbered Washington, 13-0.
The homers were hit by Julio Franco, David Wright, Shawn Green, Ramon Castro, and Endy Chavez.
Franco had three hits and five RBI; Green had three runs, two hits, and three RBI; Wright's homer was a three-run blast in the top of the eighth; and Carlos Beltran scored four times for the Mets (96-65), who have a three-game winning streak.
Winner Tom Glavine (15-7) scattered three hits over six scoreless innings with no walks and three strikeouts.
Four players each had one hit for the Nationals (71-90), who have dropped three of their last four games.
Losing pitcher Beltran Perez (2-1) allowed six runs and six hits in three innings.
Before the game, Washington confirmed that Manager Frank Robinson would not return next season and the Mets said veteran right-hander Pedro Martinez has undergone right rotator cuff surgery.
