COL FB: Notre Dame 35, Purdue 21

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Brady Quinn passed for 316 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to lead the 14th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish to a 35-21 win over the Purdue Boilermakers.

Darius Walker added 146 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the Fighting Irish (4-1).

Quinn completed 29-of-38 passes and was not intercepted. Rhema McKnight caught 10 passes for 120 yards and two TDs. Walker added nine receptions for 73 yards, giving him 219 yards from scrimmage.

Curtis Painter threw for 398 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-46 passing for Purdue (4-1).

Selwyn Lymon caught eight passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns. He set a record for most receiving yards by a Notre Dame opponent, topping the previous mark of 200 set by Southern California's John Jackson in 1989.
