WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A sacrifice fly by Shawn Green in the top of the eighth inning Friday night helped the New York Mets edge Washington, 4-3.

In relief, the winner was Pedro Feliciano (7-2).

Billy Wagner earned his 40th save of the year.

Ryan Church belted a solo home run and had two hits; Ryan Zimmerman hit an RBI single; and one run scored on LoDuca's throwing error for the Nationals (71-89), who have split their last four games.

The losing pitcher was Jon Rauch (4-5).

The Nationals are playing out the string in the wake of reports that Manager Frank Robinson will not return next season.
