MLB: Houston 3, Pittsburgh 0

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Roy Oswalt scattered four hits over seven scoreless innings Thursday afternoon as Houston beat Pittsburgh, 3-0, for its ninth straight win.

Adam Everette hit an RBI single; while both Oswalt and Morgan Ensberg drove in runs with the bases loaded for the Astros (81-78).

Oswalt (15-8) had two walks and six strikeouts.

Brad Lidge recorded his 32nd save of the year.

Jason Bay had three hits; and Jack Wilson had two hits for the Pirates (65-94), whose losing streak rose to seven consecutive games.

In seven innings, loser Tom Gorzelanny (2-5) gave up three runs and three hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

He fell to 0-3 in his last five starts and is 0-3 lifetime against Houston.

The Astros won the season series, 13-3, including a 7-3 record at Pittsburgh's PNC Park.
