MLB: Texas 5, LA Angels 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Mark Teixeria hit a two-run homer off Kelvim Escobar as the Texas Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-2, knocking LA out of post-season contention.

Robinson Tejeda (5-4) allowed 10 hits but only one run over 6 2/3 innings to get his first win in four starts. Wes Litteton pitched two innings for his first save.

Escobar (11-14) was rocked for five runs on seven hits in his shortest outing of the year. The Angels stranded nine base runners.
