MLB: LA Angels 8, Texas 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Vladimir Guerrero stroked a pair of home runs and had three RBI Monday as the Los Angeles Angels beat Texas 5-3 to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Angels moved to five games back of the AL West-leading A's, thanks to Oakland's 10-9 loss to the Seattle Mariners in 10 innings Monday night. Each team has six games to play and the Angels finish the season with four-games against Oakland.

Guerrero hit his 32nd and 33rd home runs, Orlando Cabrere was 3-for-5 with three runs scored, and Juan Rivera was 4-for-4, as all nine Angels starters got at least one hit in an 18-run performance as Los Angeles won its third straight game.

Joe Saunders (7-3) surrendered two runs on six hits with four strikeouts in seven strong innings. Scott Shields got his second save.

Texas starter Edinson Volquez (1-6) was tagged for five runs on nine hits and left in the fourth inning.
