NFL: Denver 17, New England 7

FOXBORO, Mass., Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Javon Walker caught three passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns Sunday as the Denver Broncos beat the New England Patriots, 17-7.

Jake Plummer completed 15-of-30 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns, and Tatum Bell rushed for 123 yards on 27 carries for the Broncos (21), while Rod Smith had six catches for 44 yards and Jason Elam kicked a 23-yard field goal.

New England running back Corey Dillon had just 16 yards rushing before leaving the game in the second quarter with a right arm injury. He was replaced by rookie Laurence Maroney, who finished with just 18 yards rushing -- to go with 61 yards on five receptions.

Tom Brady was 31-of-55 for 320 yards and a touchdown for the Patriots (2-1). Doug Gabriel had six receptions for 65 yards and one touchdown.
