MLS: D.C. United 4, New York 3

WASHINGTON, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Matias Donnet scored the game winner in the 89th minute Saturday night as D.C. United beat New York, 4-3, to clinch first place in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Three of the game's seven goals came with under 10 minutes left to play -- when D.C. United out-scored the Red Bulls, 2-1, despite playing a man down in the second half.

D.C. United opened the scoring with an own goal in the 10th minute. Christian Gomez and Jaime Moreno scored the other goals for D.C. United.

Amado Guevara scored twice for New York on penalty kicks in the 20th minute and in the 82nd. Josmer Altidore scored the other Red Bulls goal.
