LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Eric Byrnes had four hits and two RBI Saturday night to help Arizona beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 9-3.

Carlos Quentin had two runs and three hits, including a two-run homer; Conor Jackson had two runs, three hits, and two RBI; Johnny Estrada had two hits and one RBI; while Craig Counsell had two runs and one hit for the Diamondbacks (73-81), who have split their last four games.

Winner Miguel Batista (11-7) yielded three runs and six hits in eight innings with three walks and one strikeout.

J.D. Drew had three hits and one RBI; while Nomar Garciaparra hit a two-run double for the Dodgers (81-74), who trail San Diego by one-half game in the NL West.

Losing pitcher Brad Penny (16-9) gave up five runs and nine hits in five innings with one walk and seven strikeouts.
