Son of Dolphins owner get jail for DUI

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- The son of H. Wayne Huizenga, owner of the Miami Dolphins, has been sentenced to 120 days in jail for drunk driving.

Robert Huizenga also faces a year of house arrest and four years on probation, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Huizenga's 2003 DUI arrest was his third. He hit a 71-year-old man in Broward County who suffered a concussion and broken elbow.

During Friday's hearing, friends and relatives testified that the incident completely changed Huizenga. His sister, Pamela Alexander, told a Broward County judge that he has not tried to drive since then.

Huizenga also entered an in-patient alcohol rehabilitation program.

Huizenga's lawyer plans to appeal the jail sentence.
