MLS: Columbus 1, Houston 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Jason Garey scored in the 80th minute Saturday night to enable the Columbus Crew to wind up in a 1-1 MLS tie with Houston.

Columbus is in last place in the Eastern Conference with 27 points.

Dwayne De Rosario got his team-leading 11th goal of the season in the 54th minute to give Houston the lead.

Houston remains the Western Conference second-place team with 41 points behind FC Dallas.

Columbus kept its slim playoff hopes alive, as the team would only be eliminated by a loss.
