MLB: Tampa Bay 4, Baltimore 2

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- A two-run homer by Ty Wigginton with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning Wednesday afternoon gave Tampa Bay a 4-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Carl Crawford hit a solo homer; Rocco Baldelli drove in a run; Wigginton had two runs and two hits; and Jorge Cantu also had two hits for the Devil Rays (58-94), who broke a nine game losing streak.

In relief, the winner was Seth McClung (6-12).

Chris Gomez had two hits to extend his hitting streak to 13 games and one RBI; David Newhan hit a sacrifice fly; and Corey Patterson had two runs and two hits for the Orioles (66-86), who lost for the sixth time in their last 10 games.

In a rare relief appearance, Rodrigo Lopez (9-17), normally a starter, was the losing pitcher.
