OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Oakland downed Cleveland, 7-3, Tuesday on the wings of Bobby Kielty's first career grand slam.

Oakland has won five of the last six games and holds a 6 1/2 game lead in the American League West. Oakland's magic number to clinch the division title is six.

Kielty's blast came in the sixth inning. Nick Swisher added a two-run homer and Eric Chavez also went deep for the Athletics.

Kirk Saarloos gave up two runs on eight hits while striking out a career-high 11 batters over five innings for the no-decision. Reliever Chad Gaudin (2-2) pitched a shutout inning for the win.

Cliff Lee (12-11) took the loss.
