
PORTOROZ, Slovenia, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- The fourth, sixth, and eighth seeds were all winners Wednesday at the Slovenia Open Tennis Tournament in Portoroz, Slovenia.
No. 4 Martina Muller of Germany beat Renata Voracova of the Czech Republic, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, sixth seed Maria Cammerin of Italy beat Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria, 6-3, 6-3 and No. 8 Tatiana Garbin of Italy ousted Emmanuelle Gagliardi of Switzerland, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.
In matches between unseeded players, Martin Sucha of Slovakia was a 6-3, 6-4 winner over Maret Ani of Estonia and Margalita Chaknashvili of Russia topped Lucie Hradecko of the Czech Republic, 6-3, 6-4.
In the quarterfinals, Garbin will face Muller, Sucha will play Camerin, Chakhnashvili meets Zuzana Ondroskova of the Czech Republic and seventh seed Romina Oprandi of Italy plays No. 9 Jamila Gajdosova of Slovakia.
