Suspect in Duquesne shootings arrested

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh police said they had made a pre-dawn arrest Tuesday of a suspect in the shooting of five Duquesne college basketball players on Sunday.

Few details were released about the suspect but police said they also had two other men in custody as well. KDKA reported the two other men were thought to be witnesses to the campus shooting.

Police also had a 19-year-old woman in custody on a conspiracy charge related to the shooting that happened about 2 a.m. after a dance.

Junior forward Sam Ashaolu remained in critical condition Tuesday after a bullet shattered and broke into three sections of his head. Stuard Baldonado, a 6-foot-7 forward was upgraded Monday to fair condition with left arm and back injuries, the radio station said.
