Bengals' Pollack likely out for the season

CINCINNATI, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Cincinnati Bengals linebacker David Pollack will likely miss the rest of the season because of a neck injury he suffered in the NFL game against Cleveland.

Pollack in was injured on the Browns' second play from scrimmage Sunday when he collided with Cleveland running back Reuben Droughns while trying to make a tackle.

He was taken off the field on a stretcher and spent Sunday night in the hospital. Although Bengals officials said Monday that Pollack had feeling in his extremities, the team said he would probably miss the rest of the season.

Pollack is in his second season with the Bengals, who made him the 17th overall pick of the 2005 draft after a collegiate career at Georgia. In 14 games last year, including five starts, he recorded 35 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks.
