MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Ryan Longwell kicked a 19-yard field goal Sunday to give the Minnesota Vikings a 16-13 overtime win over the Carolina Panthers in Minneapolis.

The boot gave the Vikings a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2003 season.

Quarterback Brad Johnson completed 19-of-31 passes for 243 yards with an interception and Chester Taylor rushed for 113 yards on 24 carries.

The Vikings trailed the Panthers 13-6 in the fourth quarter but rallied after a special teams error by Carolina to force the overtime.
