MLB: Baltimore 4, Boston 0

BALTIMORE, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Erik Bedard and two relievers combined to throw a two-hit shutout Wednesday night as Baltimore beat the Boston Red Sox, 4-0.

Kevin Millar hit a two-run homer; a run scored on a throwing error by Boston catcher Doug Mirabelli; another scored on a fielder's choice ground out by Millar; while Miguel Tejada had a run and three hits for the Orioles (63-82), who broke a four-game losing streak.

Bedard (14-9) gave up two hits in seven scoreless innings with two walks and five strikeouts.

He got relief help from Todd Williams and Chris Ray, who each threw one scoreless inning.

Willy Mo Pena and Gabe Kapler both had one hit for the Red Sox (77-68), who have split their last 10 games.

Losing pitcher Tim Wakefield (7-9) yielded four runs and 10 hits in five innings.
